Dr Daniel Lynch was born in Togher, Coolea in February 1842. This site has been created to honour and remember\u00a0the great cultural giant that was Dr Lynch, who worked tirelessly to develop his native homeland of Ballyvourney both culturally and socially.\u00a0He took part in several wars on the European continent before travelling to\u00a0the awakening continent of America. On his return he studied medicine and resumed life as a leader in his native Gaeltacht community from whence he made frequent and important forays and helped to shape the Irish Cultural movement which eventually became the fight for Irish Freedom three years after his death.<\/h4>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
